 From friends into enemies 

Indeed, one can't believe that Facebook is a social networking sites. In my modest point of view, free and wise people can't breathe well and my lose a lot of their optimistic nature when they read Facbookers' posts or comments. 

So, if you needed to design a machine that would send propaganda to billions of people, distract them from hot key issues, energize hatred and animosity, erode social ties, undermine respectable journalism, foster doubts and rumors or engage in massive surveillance all at once, you would choose to invent something a lot like Facebook. 

Of course, none of that was intended to be a part of the plan. But Facebook devolved today from an innocent social networking site launched by Harvard students into a force that, while it may make personal life just a little more pleasurable and it also makes democracy a lot more challenging.

Facebook's mission went so wrong

Besides, Facebook is a site of the hubris of good intentions and an ideology that sees computer code as the universal solvent for all human problems. In this regard, I can say that it's an indictment of how "social media" has fostered the deterioration of democratic culture around the world, from facilitating Russian meddling in support of Trump's election to the exploitation of the platform by murderous authoritarians in Occupied Palestine, Burma and the Philippines. 

Accordingly, both authoritative and criminal approaches that are based on Facebook turned this social site into antisocial media. This shows how Facebook's mission went so wrong.
