Bird Flu Hits again! Ooops! From China too!
Recently, several news agencies reported that a man in eastern China is supposed to be the first confirmed human case of infection with the H10N3 strain of bird flu. Unfortunately, this bad news is true as China’s National Health Commission (NHC) stated on yesterday.
The infected man was 41 years old from Jiangsu province, located northwest of Shanghai. This man was hospitalized on April 28 after developing fever and other symptoms. A month later this man was diagnosed with the infection on May 28, according to Reuters, but he is now stable and ready to be discharged from the hospital.
However, this threat must be taken seriously otherwise the world may suffer a lot of deadly effects again and again. But let me focus now on the source of this infection. In this regard, the health commission said the infection was because of accidental cross-species transmission. The risk of widespread transmission is low, Chinese officials said, and there are no other human cases of H10N3 reported elsewhere in the world. But we mustn’t lower these threats and we must learn well otherwise we will repeat the previous mistakes that we made during Covid-19.
